AI briefing: Google Search links and Claude Code Review

Checked 16 October 2026. Two announcements from 15 October affect how businesses are found online and how software changes are checked.

Google adds clearer links to AI Search

Google announced more prominent inline links in AI Mode and AI Overviews, including links appearing higher in responses. It is also testing a dedicated section for official pages needed to complete a task, and expanding timely-news carousels to more locations and languages. Some changes are tests or gradual rollouts, not a promise of identical access in every market.

Tecrave analysis: For a small business, this is a reason to check that important pages give clear, current answers: what you offer, where you operate, how to contact you and how to complete the next step. Useful original explanations and accurate service information matter more than publishing generic AI text at volume.

The caveat is measurement. More visible links do not guarantee that a particular business will be cited, rank higher or receive more visits. Track relevant enquiries and referral traffic before attributing a change to this update. Google’s announcement does not set a new paid-plan requirement.

Claude Code Review leaves research preview

Anthropic made Code Review generally available on 15 October for Claude Team and Enterprise organisations. An administrator enables the service, installs its GitHub App and selects repositories. Reviews can then examine proposed code changes and leave findings on pull requests. Quick, Standard and Deep levels let administrators vary review depth.

Anthropic says most reviews now take six to ten minutes, compared with about twenty minutes during preview. That is a vendor claim, not an independently verified result.

Access is not the same as included usage. Reviews are charged separately through usage credits, with no flat price per review. Change size, review depth and frequency affect the bill. Organisations using Zero Data Retention, HIPAA configuration or customer-managed encryption keys are currently excluded.

Tecrave analysis: A business maintaining its own software could pilot this on one repository with a spending limit and manual review requests. Keep a developer accountable for tests and approval. The service can miss defects, does not run the code, and does not decide whether a change should be merged.
